My Story
Hello my name is Daniel Quinones, a Registered Nutritional Therapist operating out of South London. I am a graduate of the College of Naturopathic Medicine where I studied nutritional therapy and I have also completed a Master's Degree in Personalised Nutrition from CNELM, Middlesex University. I am a published research and an Expert Reviewer for the Nutrition Evidence Database. I am a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I also serve as an expert reviewer for the Nutrition Evidence Database.
Prior to gaining my qualification in nutrition I obtained my BA in graphic design and an MA in audio visual production which lead to a career in film-making. I also hold a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
What lead me to nutrition?
In 2014 I was overcome by a mystery illness which left me bed-bound for a year. I suffered with debilitating fatigue, chronic systemic pain, brain fog and food intolerances to name a few. After a battery of tests and doctors appointments I found little support from conventional medicine and decided to embark on a nutritional and lifestyle protocol in hopes to overcome my illness and regain my life. During the process of trying to heal myself I gained a passion for nutrition and enrolled at the College for Naturopathic Medicine to not only gain a better insight into my own health obstacles but to also be able to help others. I am passionate about nutrition and assisting my clients to achieve their goals and obtain optimum health. I believe that the human body is capable of miraculous recovery if only we remove the burden of modern living. In essence my aim is to help my clients hit the nutritional 'reset' button and allow the body to take over the healing process. Health is our natural state of being and I believe we can return to this state through appropriate diet and lifestyle modifications.
My approach is guided by the functional medicine model which seeks to uncover the root cause of illness and to provide appropriate dietary interventions in order to regain balance and vitality. Through the utilisation of functional testing and in depth case history taking my goal is to provide my clients with knowledge and understanding of their requirements so they may take ownership and empower them to fulfil their full potential.
